The Réserve écologique de l' Erablière du Trente -et -Un - Milles is a large 606 ha in 1994 protected area in the southwest of the Canadian province of Quebec in the MRC La Vallée- de -la- Gatineau.

It is located 30 km southwest of the community Maniwaki, west of the mat Bay on Lac des Trente et Un Milles. It represents and protects the bottom of the Gatineau area or ecoregion Lac Simon typical forests in which predominates the yellow birch as well as the eponymous maple forest (French Erablière ). Here you will find next to the sugar maple one of the northernmost sites of the Black sugar maple.

The protected area is typical of the upper Laurentians, or this part of the Canadian Shield. The subsoil consists of limestone and dolomite, therefore, there are numerous caves and grottos. Strong through interspersed with rock and rock brown earth, podzol and LITHOSOL describes the soils of the region.

In addition to the yellow birch is found a species of the genus hop hornbeam ( Ostrya virginiana (Mill.) K. Koch ), and red oak (Quercus rubra), White pine and hemlock.

Moose, white-tailed deer, beaver and numerous water birds are the most visible representatives of the local fauna.

The name of the region is derived from the same lake.
