The natural gas Sportpark (own spelling: NATURAL GAS Sports Park ) is a football stadium, opened in September 2011 in the city of Halle an der Saale, Saxony- Anhalt. The football club FC Hall shear receives in the arena his opponents.

History

The natural gas sports park was built on the site of the old Kurt Wabbel stadium, which was demolished in the summer of 2010. The listed protective outer walls and archways, who built already at 1936 Kurt Wabbel stadium and the workers were still images that have been implemented by 1951 Thingplace Brandberge to the stadium, but survived. During the construction of the football club FC Hall shear had to dodge into the stadium in the education center. The cost of about 17 million euros shared the city with about 11 million euros and the State of Saxony -Anhalt with approximately 6 million euros. The newly built stadium has a capacity of 15,057 covered seats ( 8,850 standing, 6,155 - seat, 8 lodges, 320 business seats and 30 seats for disabled and 22 seats for accompanying persons ). The floodlight system and a photovoltaic system have been integrated into the stadium roof. Under the two-meter sunken playing surface from a natural grass lawn heating was installed.

End of May 2011 was the Halle FC announced that the stadium opening a friendly match against Hamburger SV has been agreed. The match took place on 20 September 2011 and saw a 1:4 win for Hamburger SV in the solemn opening match. The first goal in the new stadium shot of hamburger Sören Bertram.
