Ereikoussa

Errikousa (Greek Ερρείκουσα ( f sg ) older spelling also Erikoussa ( Ερεικούσσα )) is the northernmost of the Othonischen or Diapontia Islands. The island belongs to Greece and is located only about 25 km from Corfu Town. Covering an area of about 2 × 2 km and an area of ​​4 km ² it is the second largest of the Diapontia or Othonischen islands, on which the few inhabitants live mainly from agriculture, especially olive growing, as well as the modest fishing and tourism. The highest elevation is 130 m of Merlera.

By 2010 Errikousa independent municipality was (Greek kinotita κοινότητα ) within the Prefecture of Corfu, since the administrative reform in 2010 it belongs to the new large municipality Corfu, where it has since formed one of 15 community districts. Main places are the pier Porto and on the east coast of the same hamlet Errikousa.

You can reach the island with the ( weather permitting) with regular ferry service to the town of Corfu and seasonal with the northwestern Corfiot tourist places. So far, the places of the island from tourism are only slightly affected, and therefore very quiet. Nevertheless Errikousa offers several hotels and very long sandy beaches with crystal clear water.
