Ereuniidae
Ereunias grallator
The Ereuniidae are a three types of marine fish family, which is endemic in the Pacific Northwest in the waters around Japan, at depths of about 500 meters.
Features
The Ereuniidae be 20 to 30 inches long. Your body is covered with prickly ctenoid scales. As with the Knurrhähnen ( Triglidae ) the lower four rays of the ventral fins are extended without fins membrane and move freely. The number of Branchiostegalstrahlen is six, which the vertebrae 36 to 39 (13 Präcaudalwirbel (eddy in the abdomen ), 23 to 26 behind it). The spines on the gill covers are simple, not antler -shaped. The skull bones parasphenoid and Pterosphenoid are separated.

There are two genera with three species:
- Genus Ereunias Ereunias grallator Jordan & Snyder, 1901.
- Marukawichthys Ambulator Sakamoto, 1931.
- Marukawichthys pacificus Yabe, 1983.
