Eri Kawai

Eri Kawai (Japanese河 井 英里, actually :河 井 英 理, Kawai Eri, born May 8, 1965 in the prefecture of Tokyo; † August 4, 2008 in Chuo (Tokyo) ) was a Japanese singer-songwriter and arranger.

Eri Kawai studied at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music Composition. She sings and composes classical music, pop music and world music.

In 1991 she was vice- champion in the sponsored Kitty Records CSPC Audition. 1997 appeared at AEL Records her first album Ao ni Sasageru that however due to time constraints with 5 pieces only a mini - album was. 2002 this has again been set at Earthrise Records. Appeared in 2001 at Universal Music under their project Erie their first full-length album Prayer.

In the broadcast of the 2002 Winter Olympics her song Kisuturina (キストゥリナ) from the album Ao ni Sasageru was used.

Eri Kawai died in 2008 of liver cancer. In December 2008, published with Kaze no Michi e and Himawari two albums in her memory.
