Eric Zumbrunnen

Eric James Zumbrunnen (* November 1964 ) is an American editor and former musician.

Life

Although Eric James Zumbrunnen already worked during his high school years in a movie theater and during the college in student films from time to time helped, it was by his own admission never his goal in the film business to gain a foothold. It was more like the college course " videotape -editing for non- fictional television" and the contacts established during which a film editing company that have led him after graduation to find a job as an assistant editor. Over several months he remained in the company and assisted at the intersection of shows, commercials and music videos. Among them was the MTV show Cutting Edge on which he established contacts with Jane 's Addiction and then persuading him exclusively to cut their music videos and shows for them.

His contacts in the music business now reaping the benefit that Zumbrunnen itself from 1985 to 1987 in the Rock Band Holmes described as " 83st hottest band in LA " was known, was active as a guitarist and singer. So tied and he also worked for other music greats such as Iron Maiden, Ice Cube and Björk. However, he also learned the music video director Spike Jonze, with whom he took over in 1999 for the first time on its first feature film Being John Malkovich film editing. For this work he received not only the average American Eddie, but also a nomination for Best Editor at the British Academy Film Awards 2000.
