LG- Ericsson is a joint venture between the Swedish group Ericsson and South Korea's LG Electronics Group.
Company Details
LG- Ericsson was established in November 2005 under the name of LG- Nortel. On 29 June 2010, the Nortel participation were purchased at LG- Nortel and subsequently renamed the company in LG- Ericsson from Ericsson. The company, which employs around 1,500 staff designs, and markets telecommunications and IT solutions for enterprises and telecommunications service provider. Since April 2011, LG- Ericsson is also active in the German market.
Products
The company has a number of IP phones ( MGCP / SIP / H.323 ), WiFi and DECT terminals and video phones ( SIP) which are compatible for companies with a wide range of solutions developed. The portfolio also includes network products, such as the LG- Ericsson ES -2000 and ES -3000 switches with 24-/48-Port-Fast-Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet. The switches are available with and without PoE in different variants.
The company also has a range of IP and hybrid PBX systems for SOHO and SME market. In the SOHO market offers LG- Ericsson with the " SBG1000 " an all-in -one solution. It includes next 2 ISDN lines and 4 SIP trunks directly about a DECT and a WiFi access point. Up to 23 IP endpoints and up to 6 DECT / 4 WiFi devices are operated as mobile devices.
The SME sector is covered by the iPecs - LIK family. These phone systems consists of self-contained modules that can be operated linked to any location and supports analog, digital and IP handsets and DECT and WiFi handsets. Various applications round out the portfolio.
Composition of equity investments
Nortel paid $ 145 million for 50 % stake plus one share, hence the participation was balanced with LG Electronics. Nortel sold its 50% plus one share in Ericsson for $ 242 million.
