Erik Asmussen

Erik " Abbi " Asmussen ( born November 2, 1913 in Copenhagen, † 29 August 1998 Järna, Sweden ) was an active since 1939 in Sweden Danish architect. He is considered the creator of a new variant of the Swedish traditional timber construction, which he created from anthroposophic inspiration out.

Style

Erik Asmussen worked with the artist Arne Klingborg. Both were advocates of anthroposophic architecture and Asmussen inclusion of the landscape and traditions of the place were always self- important. He always worked with nature and expresses it in a quote: "The goal is ... to strive to provide means of design and use of formal language a stimulating environment, which can be used thanks to their special atmosphere to be exactly the to inspire activity for which the building is provided. "

For these principles he used the color, the material and the recurring characteristic round and prismatic form elements.
