Erik Henningsen
Erik Ludvig Henningsen ( born August 29, 1855 in Copenhagen, † November 28, 1930 ) was a Danish painter and illustrator.
Henningsen was trained from 1873 to 1877 at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts ( Det Kongelige Academie de skjønne for Kunster ) in Copenhagen. His naturalistic style featured in the preference for dark colors and was initially determined by historical motifs, then came descriptions from the big city life to those. As part of a poster competition for the brewery Tuborg in 1900, he created his most famous work, the image The thirsty man (The tørstige someone ).
