Erik Hoffmann

Erik Hoffmann ( born August 22, 1981 in Windhoek, Namibia ) is a deutschnamibischer cyclists.

Career

Erik Hoffmann has a Namibian passport, and came to his graduation in 2000 first time in 2001 to Germany. His family lives in the fourth generation in Namibia. Once in Germany, he went first as an amateur at the Stuttgart club " 1.RV Stuttgardia " and then the Freiburg club " RSV Paving ". After a good season in 2005, he received an offer from the German professional team Team Lamonta. In 2006 he participated in Salzburg at the World Cup in the individual time trial. After a successful first season with the team Lamonta Hoffmann got extended his contract with the club from Rheda- Wiedenbrück and could in 2007 conscientiously prepare for the B World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa. There he won the silver medal and Namibia as a starting place at the Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing. There he finished third in the road race on the very difficult course a good 22 place. In 2008, Hoffmann accepted an offer of the Asian teams Giant.

Hoffmann studied since 2001 electrical engineering at the University of Stuttgart. In October 2009 he completed his studies in the field of laser technology.
