Erik Truffaz

Erik Truffaz ( born April 3, 1960 in Conches ) is a French jazz trumpeter who is sometimes seen as an imitator of Miles Davis.

The son of a professional musician enters Truffaz, before he finished his first decade of life, in the dance orchestra of his father. After visiting the conservatories in Geneva and Chambery he founded in 1991 with Marcello Giuliani, Marc Erbetta, Pierre- Luc Vallet and Maurice Magnoni his first quintet Orange. Together they earned in 1991 the Special Prize of the Paris Concours National de Jazz Festival, released their debut album " Nina Valeria " and were invited to the Montreux Jazz Festival.

At the same time Erik began in the hip hop band to play " Silent Majority ". Since then he has again and again with DJ Goo and rapper Nya. In his " electric jazz " compositions elements of hip hop, rock 'n ' roll and other dance music as well go as a classic electronic music. His second, the Ladyland Quartet consists of Michel Benita (bass ), Philippe Pipon Garcia ( drums) and Manu Codjia ( guitar).
