Erin Wall
Erin Wall (* November 4, 1975 in Calgary, Alberta ) is a Canadian soprano.
Life and work
Wall studied at the Vancouver Academy of Music, Western Washington University, the. Rice University and at the Music Academy of the West She was a finalist in the Cardiff Singer of the World Competition 2003 in Wales, in which 951 singers from 56 nations competed. 483 came in the selection, Wall sang in the group of five finalists.
Opera
Your opera career started in 2001 at the Ryan Opera Center of the Lyric Opera of Chicago, where she was firmly committed three years. At Chicago's opera Erin Wall is as Marguerite in Gounod's Faust, in the Mozart roles of Donna Anna, Pamina, Fiordiligi and Constance, as occurred Helena in Britten's A Midsummer Night 's Dream and as Antonia in Les Contes d' Hoffmann.
In 2005, she successfully debuted at the Festival d' Aix -en- Provence - after 2006 at the Theater an der Wien and at the Opéra National de Paris - as Fiordiligi in Patrice Chéreau - staging with Daniel Harding conducting the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. In 2006, she fell at the Mostly Mozart Festival in New York and at the Festival Season 2007, the Santa Fe Opera, she sang the title role in Strauss' Daphne.
When Donna Anna conquered the Minnesota Opera ( 2006), the Washington National Opera ( 2007), the Met ( 2009) and finally the Vienna and Munich State Opera (2010), and the Vancouver Opera ( 2013). At La Scala, she appeared as Helena and listen. She also appeared at the Teatro Municipal in Santiago de Chile, at the Los Angeles Opera and the Calgary Opera, and numerous other opera houses in North and South America on.
At your Wagner roles Freia in Das Rheingold, the Gerhilde in Die Walküre and the flower girl are in Parsifal. In 2010 she made her debut as the Countess in Capriccio at Pacific Opera Victoria. Personal successes, the artist recently as Thaïs at the Edinburgh Festival (2011), as Clémence recorded in L'amour de loin with the Canadian Opera Company and as Arabella at the Santa Fe Opera (both 2012). As a result, she was seen at the Met, as Helena and Arabella and listen.
Concert
Erin Wall is also in demand as a concert singer. In July 2002, she made her debut in London with the soprano part in Britten's War Requiem, which she sang and recorded the occasion of the 50th anniversary on May 30, 2012 in Coventry Cathedral under Andris Nelsons.
Mahler's Eighth occupies a special place in the career of the artist, but this took it twice - first in 2007 under Pierre Boulez for the German Grammophon, then in 2009 with the San Francisco Symphony under Michael Tilson Thomas; an award-winning recordings. With the San Francisco Symphony drew on Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, a soprano solo, which it also with numerous other orchestras, sang, among other things, with the Vienna Philharmonic under Christian Thielemann.
Other concert appearances were Berg's Seven Early Songs with Sir Andrew Davis, Poulenc's Gloria and Strauss ' Four Last Songs with Andris Nelsons at the desk. Your first Verdi Requiem sang Erin Wall with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, their first Solemn Mass under Bernard Haitink. The artist has performed with many major orchestras and at a number of festivals, including Ravinia and Grant Park (both Chicago), Tanglewood (Massachusetts), Lanaudière (Montréal ), Mostly Mozart (New York City ), and Campos do Jordão (Brazil).
Erin Wall lives with her husband, her son and daughter in Toronto.
