Erkka Petäjä

Erkka Petäjä ( born February 13, 1964 in Turku ) is a Finnish former football player.

The defender Petäjä began in his hometown Turku in the club Turun Palloseura (TPS). Until 1984, he completed 86 league games for TPS. In 1985 he went to the Swedish Östers IF, in which he played 143 league games until 1991. There were other brief stops in Sweden at Helsingborgs IF and Malmö FF before he moved to Switzerland to Yverdon -Sport FC, for whom he, however, only seven aground. He then went again to Sweden for Husqvarna FF. In 1996, he finally returned for two seasons in his hometown and is now played for FC Inter Turku. A national title or a trophy he did not win during his career.

For the Finnish national Petäjä denied 1983-1994 84 internationals. He is the Finnish national team with the sixth- most applications (as of 15 November 2011).

Petäjä also ran track and had a 100-meter personal best of 11.20 seconds set in 1984. He belonged to the athletics club Turun Urheiluliitto.
