Ernesto Gándara Camou

Ernesto Gándara Camou ( born September 22, 1960 in Hermosillo, Sonora ) is a Mexican politician and current mayor of Hermosillo.

Ernesto Camou was born in 1960 in Hermosillo, the capital of the state of Sonora, the son of then Mayor Augusto Gándara Laborín. He studied law at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, where he received his Bachelor. His master, he graduated from the University of Paris II

Gándara, who came into politics through the youth wing of the Partido Revolucionario Institucional, had since 1991 held various positions at the state and national levels, before he took over the office of mayor of his native town on 16 September 2006. Among the achievements of his previous term of office included the improvement of the water supply of the city.

Gándara is married and has three daughters.
