Ernesto Prinoth

Ernst Prinoth ( born April 15, 1923 in Ortisei, † 26 November 1981 in Innsbruck ) was a South Tyrolean industrialist and race car driver.

1961, involved the auto mechanic to five Formula 1 races that had no validity for the World Championships, with a Lotus 18 race car. Twice he succeeded in this race to enter the podium. The following year he wanted to participate in the Gran Premio d' Italia, but could not qualify. In 1963 he participated in the Gran Premio di Imola and at the Grand Prix of Austria.

Since 1960 he was a pioneer in the construction of snowcats, which he had developed in 1964 for series production. Other inventions followed since 1973, he built more than snowmobiles snow blowers. The company he founded Prinoth AG was taken over in 2000 by the company Leitner AG.
