Ernie Bushmiller

Ernest Paul Bush Miller ( born August 23, 1905 in New York City; † August 15, 1982 in Stamford (Connecticut) ) was an American comic book artist. He was known for his comic strip Nancy.

Life

With 14 years of Bush Miller worked as an errand boy at the New York World newspaper. At night he took art classes at the National Academy of Design. Around 1925, Bush Miller was hired to take over the comic strip Fritzi Ritz, the previously Larry Whittington had drawn and now wanted to make. Bush Miller agreed, and led the series for years on. In 1933 Fritzi's niece Nancy on the scene. The figure was well received and was now seen more often, eventually the whole series was renamed in Nancy in 1938. The comic strip at the clever and dreamy 8 -year-old girl was a great success, it has been translated into several languages ​​and received its own comic series. Even in 1979 - when Bush Miller Parkinson's disease was diagnosed - he was using a wizard on. He died in 1982.
