Ernst Bettler

Ernst Bettler is a fictional graphic designer from Switzerland. It was invented by Christopher Wilson in 2000 in a magazine Dot Dot Dot article " Ernst beggar " was first associated with the following (invented) event publicized. According to Article Ernst got beggars in 1950 by the Swiss pharmaceutical company Pfäfferli Huber (P H) commissioned to design posters. However, he had knowledge that the company was involved in experiments in Nazi concentration camps. Nevertheless beggar took the job, but with the intention to harm the company with his work. He designed four posters. They promoted for P H drugs such as " Contrazipan ". The article continues to read that the posters also contained abstract compositions that could be interpreted as uppercase. Each poster had such a letter. Attached to the posters side by side on, the word " N-A -Z -I " returned. A few weeks after the publication of the posters the company P H to have been ruined.

Following publication no doubt were first loud, but about celebrating the magazine Adbusters in an edition of 2001 working as "one of the greatest design interventions on record". The graphic design textbook Problem Solved by Michael Johnson from 2002 Ernst beggar praised as one of the fathers of the culture-jamming.

The article was first uncovered by Andy Crewdson as a hoax in 2002. This was followed in February 2003, a revelation in the magazine Eye.
