Ernst Kozub

Ernst Kozub ( born January 24, 1924 in Hamborn, † December 27, 1971 in Bad Soden am Taunus ) was a German opera singer ( lyric tenor, later heroic tenor ).

He studied at the Academy of Music in Weimar and made his debut in 1950 at the Komische Oper Berlin as Chateauneuf in Zar und Zimmermann. In 1954 he moved to Frankfurt Opera House, and came in 1962 to the Hamburg State Opera. He was a guest, primarily as a heroic tenor ( Siegmund and Siegfried from the Ring of the Nibelungen, Parsifal 1959 in Frankfurt), in all major German theaters, the Royal Opera House, the Vienna State Opera, La Scala in Milan and in Rome, Naples, Cairo.

After a car accident, he was able to continue his career with difficulty. Ernst Kozub died on December 27, 1971, to an incurable disease. His urn grave is located in Königstein im Taunus.
