Ernst Ottensamer

Ernst Ottensamer ( born October 5, 1955 in Wallern at the Trattnach, Upper Austria ) is an Austrian clarinetist.

Life

Ernst Ottensamer is considered one of the most important clarinetists of the country Austria. He studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and completed his diploma with distinction. In 1979 he was hired as a clarinetist in the Vienna Philharmonic and the Orchestra of the Vienna State Opera. Since 1983 he has held the position of principal clarinet there.

In 2000, he received a professorship at the University of Music in Vienna, where he has worked as a teacher since 1986.
