Ernst Pistulla

Ernst Pistulla ( born November 28, 1906 in Goslar, † September 14, 1944 ) was a German boxer.

Amateur

Pistulla won the 1928 German Championship light heavyweight and was subsequently nominated as the representative of Germany in this weight class for the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, the first Olympic Games, which were attended by German boxer.

Pistulla reached the only one from the German team, the final of his weight class, which he lost to Argentine Victor Avendano on points. The silver medal was won so with that the first Olympic medal by a German boxer in the history of gaming. This rank also brought him as bestplatziertem Europeans the title of European Champion.

Professional

1929 moved Pistulla in the professional camp. In February 1930, he was a victory over Helmut Hartkopp German masters. On January 9, 1931, he boxed against Adolf Heuser at the European Championship. Heuser defended the title by a draw.

Already about two months later, on March 18, 1931, he got a second chance and title with a victory against the Spaniard Martinez de Alfara the European title. The title he defended then once again by a draw against Heuser. In May 1934, he lost the battle for the German championship with a first round KO against Adolf Witt. In 1935, he finished after three knockout losses in a row to his sports career.
