Ernst Rudolf von Trautvetter

Ernst Rudolph Trautvetter, 1825 by Traut Vetter ( born February 20, 1809 in Jelgava, Latvia, † January 24, 1889 in St. Petersburg, Russia ) was a German botanist. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Trautv. ".

He was the son of Frederick William Traut cousin, royal Saxon court counselor and agent in St. Petersburg, was charged on May 23, 1825 in Dresden, the Saxon nobility.

Trautvetter founded in 1839 in Kiev, a botanical garden and was the longtime director. The plant genus Trautvetteria fish. et Mey. from the family of the buttercup family ( Ranunculaceae ) has been named after him.
