Ernst Siehr

Siehr Ernst ( born October 5, 1869 in Heinrichswalde ( circle lowland, East Prussia ), † November 14, 1945 in Bergen auf Rügen) was a German politician ( Progressive People's Party, DDP).

Life and career

After graduating from high school in Insterburg studied Siehr, the Protestant faith was, from 1886 to 1889 in Königsberg, Munich and Berlin law. During his studies he joined the Königsberg Landsmannschaft Littuania. At age 19, became a trainee, he passed the state exam in 1894 with "good" and settled in 1895 as a lawyer in Insterburg. Until 1911 he was a part-time general counsel of the Chamber of Commerce Insterburg. In that year he also received approval as a notary. In World War I he was employed in land mobile storm - battalion Insterburg the rank of lieutenant. He was awarded the Iron Cross Second Class.

Siehr was a member of the German Peace Society and the East Prussian provincial association to raise the river and canal waterways. 1929 honorary doctorate from the University of Königsberg and the freedom of the city Insterburg were bestowed upon him. On February 3, 1940, he was awarded the band of the Corps Littuania.

Party

Siehr was initially a member of the Progressive People's Party, where he led the party breakdown for East Prussia. In 1918 he participated in the founding of the DDP, where he was also Chairman of East Prussia.

Member of Parliament

Siehr was a member of the City Council of Insterburg and was its deputy head. In 1919, he was also vice president of the East Prussian Provincial Landtag.

He was from 1912 to 1918 a member of parliament for the constituency Regierungsbezirk Gumbinnen 3 ( Gumbinnen - Insterburg ). In 1919 he was elected to the Weimar National Assembly. Then he was up to the election of the East Prussian deputies on February 20, 1921 Reichstag.

Public offices
