Ernst Tengelmann

Ernst Tengelmann ( born January 14, 1870 in Somborn in Dortmund, † March 30, 1954 in Essen ) was a German entrepreneur.

Life

After graduating from the Mountain School in Bochum, he was from 1893 to 1896 Steiger in pan, then until 1898 driving and weather Steiger in Herten and from 1898 the operator of the mine Hercules in Essen.

From 1901 he was Director pit and eventually served on the Board of the Essenes coal mines. From 1913 to 1942 he was Director General and CEO of the Essenes coal mines AG and CEO of Gelsenkirchen Mining -AG. Tengelmann was from 1930 a member of the NSDAP, also his sons Walter and William worked actively for the party. He said this also financial support for the secret meeting of 20 February 1933 Hitler.
