Ernst von Grünigen

Ernst von Grünigen (* March 23, 1950, † June 1992 ) was a Swiss ski jumper.

Career

From Grünigen jumped 1970-1977 in the Four Hills Tournament. He made his debut on December 30, 1970 at the opening event of the Four Hills Tournament 1970/71 in Oberstdorf. Despite the good results he could jump at any time in the overall standings ranks of the tour. He was nominated for the Olympic Winter Games in Sapporo in 1972 and reached the normal hill on 16th Place and on the large hill to the 44th. He achieved his best result with a 6th place in Garmisch -Partenkirchen January 1, 1976. Based on this result, he was nominated again in 1976 in Innsbruck for the Winter Olympics and reached there surprisingly the 5th place of the normal and the 23. place on the large hill. After the Four Hills Tournament 1976/77 he ended his ski jumping career.
