The Henderson - dog tooth ( Erythronium hendersonii ) is a species in the lily family ( Liliaceae ).

Features

The Henderson - dog tooth is a perennial, herbaceous plant onion, achieved the stature heights 12 to 30 inches. The leaves are 10 to 25 inches long. There are 1-4 (rarely to 10) present flowers. The anthers are blue-gray to purple. The stamens are less than 0.8 mm wide and not widened. The pens are 6-8 mm long and either undivided or they have less than 1 millimeter long stigma lobes on. The tepals are 18 to 35 millimeters long and purple to pink colored. Your tip is slightly darker and the reason they are dark at the top.

The flowering period extends from April to May

Occurrence

The Henderson - dog tooth is found in northwestern California and southwestern Oregon in the western United States. The species grows in dry woods and clearings at altitude 300-1600 meters.

Use

The Henderson - dog tooth is rarely used as an ornamental plant for rock gardens and woodland edges.
