The Pink Fawn Lily ( Erythronium revolutum ) is a species in the lily family ( Liliaceae ).

Features

The Pink Fawn Lily is a perennial, herbaceous plant onion, achieved the stature heights of 15 to 40 centimeters. There are 1-3 flowers available. The tepals are 25 to 40 millimeters long, lanceolate to narrowly elliptical, pink, and have a yellow ribbon on the base. The inner tepals have ears at the base. The anthers are yellow. The filaments are flattened, and in the center 2-3 mm wide. Scar lobes of the stylus 4 to 6 mm in length and bent back.

The flowering period extends from April to May

Occurrence

The pink dog tooth happens to the southwestern British Columbia in western North America from northern California. The species grows on shady banks of streams, river terraces and in damp forests near the coast at altitudes from 0 to 1000 meters.

Use

The Pink Dog tooth is rarely used as an ornamental plant for rock gardens and woodland edges. The species is in cultivation since at least 1899. His crops are mostly hybrid varieties with Erythronium tuolumnense (selection):

  • ' Citronella ' has lemon yellow flowers.
  • ' Pagoda ' is a hardy, perennial plant with bright yellow flowers and a throat with brown ring.
  • ' Jeanine ' and 'Miss Jessop ' have pied foliage.
