The Espace Mittelland is a large region in Switzerland. After the division of the Swiss Federal Statistical Office, it includes the cantons of Bern, Fribourg, Solothurn, Neuchâtel and Jura, so only a part of the geographic midlands and areas which are geographically not part of the Central Plateau, such as the Bernese Oberland and the entire canton of Jura.
