Estádio do Lumiar

The Estádio do Lumiar was a sports stadium in the borough Lumiar the Portuguese capital Lisbon. The stadium consisted of a soccer field, a running track and a cycle lane.

On April 30, 1937, the Sporting Lisbon rented at the stadium and was henceforth its home games there. After negotiations with the Câmara Municipal of Lisbon, the stadium was in 1947 in the possession of the club over. The playing field was a lawn, background and the wheel path were paved and built bleachers. The renovated stadium was inaugurated on June 13, 1947 with a match between Sporting and Atlético Bilbao. It remained until moving into the Estádio José Alvalade in 1956 home ground of Sporting.

In the stadium took place in the Portuguese national football team 1922-1936 13 internationals. It was 1940 and 1942 the venue for the final of the Taça de Portugal.
