Estadio Multiusos de San Lázaro

The Estadio Multiusos de San Lázaro is a multi-purpose stadium in the Spanish city of Santiago de Compostela. It is used, among other things, the football club SD Compostela as homestead.

The stadium, which is located in the eastern city of Santiago in the San Lázaro, was inaugurated on 24 June 1993 with a match between Deportivo La Coruna and CA River Plate, first scorer was the Brazilians Bebeto. The construction of the sports facility coincided with the rapid rise of football clubs SD Compostela, who took part in the 1994/95 season for the first time in the Primera División. In the top division, the club should remain four years, a deep fall followed up to the Regionalliga. In summer 2001, the stadium was intended as a venue of the FIFA Club World Cup, but this was canceled by the world football body two months before the tournament starts. From 2006 to 2009, the local rivals SD Ciudad de Santiago played their home games at Multiusos de San Lázaro.

The stadium has an oval shape and has an eight-lane running track, the bleachers are completely covered and provide around 13,000 visitors.
