The Estelada but also embodies the entire so-called Països Catalans, ie not only Catalonia and the ( at least partially ) Catalan-speaking region of Valencia, the Balearic Islands and parts of Aragon. It generally serves as a independence for Catalonia, which is demanded by a group of Catalans icon. For example, there are demonstrations, in particular in the capital, Barcelona, which plays a symbolic importance of Estalada. The flag is decorated by four red stripes on a golden or yellow background and a blue triangle with a white star. A distinction is made between the above Estelada Blava and the Estelada Groga in which the triangle is yellow, with a red star in the middle.
