Eta Ursae Majoris

η Ursae Majoris ( Eta Ursae Majoris, in short: η UMa ), also known by the common name Alkaid and Benetnasch (derived from the Arabic القائد / al -qa ʾ id or قائد بنات نعش / Qā ʾ id Banat na ʿ š /, head of the mourners '), is an approximately 100 light-years distant main sequence star of spectral type B3.

Alkaid forms the tip of the handle of the Big Dipper. Unlike most of the other stars of the Big Dipper, he does not belong to causes major group ( group of bears ).

In allusion to the word similarity of the proper name Alkaid to Al Qaeda Frank -Markus Barwasser wrote the play Alkaid - Furry has the state in bed, in the Munich Residenz Theater had its premiere in 2010.
