Eternal Tears of Sorrow

Eternal Tears of Sorrow ( Eto ) is a Finnish melodic death metal band from Pudasjärvi.

Band History

As early as 1992 found Jarmo Puolakanaho and Altti Veteläinen under the name Andromeda their first band and take the demo "The Forth Dimension" on. Shortly thereafter comes next to a drummer and a singer also Olli -Pekka Törrö as a guitarist for band but pulped by the burning of the sample space again. Jarmo, Altti and Olii -Pekka take under the name MDC 1993 another demo "Beyond the Fantasy " on.

1994 followed by the last name change. Eternal Tears of Sorrow is founded and under this name they initially take the next demo "Seventh Goddesses of Frost" in the physics lab at the local school. But for the next song, it should be a real studio and the decision falls on the Tico -Tico another 150 kilometers studio in Kemi. After Sentenced had the mix for " Amok" finished, heard the studio for a day them. Here they take on the four songs for " Bard's Burial". With this demo, the search for a label.

1995, all three in the military. Meanwhile, find songs from " Bard's Burial" their way onto two sampler in Canada and Belgium. In spring 1996 the band signs with label X -Treme Records in Gothenburg and does in July to the recording of their debut album, but there are difficulties in its publication. "Sinner 's Serenade " appears only in September 1997. In 1997, the band also has their first concert. For the appearance at Jyrkkäkoski Midnight Festival in Pudasjärvi they get guitarist Antti Kokko and drummer Petri Sankala as support.

In 1998, she again take in Tico -Tico studio on the second album " Vilda Mannu ". Since the agreement with X -Treme Records has already expired, a new label is searched for and found in Spinefarm Records. The song " Burning Flames ' Embrace " will be released in November 1998 on the single " Sacrament of Wilderness " by Nightwish, in December followed by the album.

In January 1999, the band comes together with Barathrum first time on tour in Finland. After leaving Olli -Pekka for personal reasons the band. Session drummer Petri Sankala will fix added and keyboardist Pasi Hiltula and guitarist Antti -Matti Talala the band is completed. The following November, the third album " Chaotic Beauty" is taken with the help of producer Mikko Karmila in Tico -Tico studio, which released in February 2000. A European tour with Nightwish and Sinergy follows. Antti -Matti has the military and is replaced by Antti Kokko ( Kalmah ).

In 2001 the fourth album "A Virgin and a Whore " is recorded and released in October of the same year shortly after the first single, "The Last One For Life ". At a concert in Oulu playing as support act for Megadeth.

2002 is only announced an extended break before Altti and Jarmo dissolve the band in 2003 completely.

In February 2005, the return of Eternal Tears of Sorrow is announced. Altti, Jarmo and Petri see guitarist and keyboardist Janne Tolsa Risto Ruuth new members. In May 2006, "Before the Bleeding Sun" released and reached number 26 in the Finnish album charts.
