Ethan (biblical figure)

The name Ethan (Hebrew: איתן, dt "strong" ) is found in the Bible a total of eight times.

In the first Book of Kings (1 Kings 5,11 EU) is called a sage by the name of Etan Esrachiter. Psalm 89 is titled A Song wisdom of Ethan, the Esrachiters. He is therefore regarded as the author of the Psalms.

In the first book of the chronicles several men are called Etan called ( 1 Chr 2.6 SLT and 1 Chr 2.8 SLT; 1 Chr 6,27 SLT and SLT 1 Chr 6,29 ). One of them was a player of the cymbal at the court of King David ( 1 Chr 15:17 SLT and 1 Chr 15:19 SLT).
