Ethel Griffies

Life

Griffies was the daughter of the manager Samuel Rupert Woods and the actress Lillie Roberts. In 1899 she made ​​her stage debut in London. In 1917, the actress has appeared in numerous films. In the 1930s and 1940s, the artist took on smaller roles in Hollywood. She played her best known role as stubborn ornithologists activist Mrs. Bundy in Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds, for which she appeared in a film after 13 years.
