Euan Geddes, 3rd Baron Geddes

Euan Michael Ross Geddes, 3rd Baron Geddes ( born September 3, 1937) is a British peer and politician and deputy speaker of the House of Lords.

He is a son of the 2nd Baron Geddes, and went on to Rugby School, Warwickshire and the Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, where he completed his studies in 1961 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Arts. Geddes graduated in 1969 postgraduate studies at Harvard Business School. He inherited his father's title in 1975.

Geddes was from 1956 to 1958 in the Royal Navy and became Lieutenant - Commander ( Lieutenant Commander ) of the Royal Naval Reserve. He was Development Manager at P & O Bulk Shipping. He was 1975-1977 Deputy Head of P & O Asia (Hong Kong). Since 1992 he has been Chairman of the Trinity College, London, and since 2000 by Castle Chrome Ltd. .. He is also a director of the Trinity College of Music.

He is a member of the Conservative Party. With the passing of the House of Lords Act 1999, he lost along with all other Erbpeers ( Hereditary peers) the automatic seat in the House of Lords. However, he was chosen as one of 92 selected Erbpeers that remained after the reform in the House. Since 2002 he has been deputy speaker of the House of Lords.

He was married twice, first in 1966 with Gillian Butler, and after their death with Susan Margaret Carter. He has two children from his first wife, a daughter and a son, his heir James George Neil Geddes.
