Euclid Kyurdzidis

Ewklid Kiriakowitsch Kjurdsidis ( born February 22, 1968 in Jessentuki, Stavropol region, Soviet Union, Russian Эвклид Кириакович Кюрдзидис; Greek Ευκλείδης Κυριάκου Κιουρτζίδης ) is a Russian film and theater actor of Greek descent.

Life and career

Ewklid Kjurdsidis was born in Jessentuki 1968, one of the centers of the Greek community in the Soviet Union. Both parents were of Greek descent, his grandparents had immigrated after the Second World War in the Soviet Union. By his own account, he speaks very little Greek, but has since 1996 also on the Greek citizenship. His childhood was spent partly in present-day Georgia. In 1987, he completed training at the theater school in Dnepropetrovsk, then he worked as an actor in theaters in Lutsk and Pyatigorsk. He eventually enrolled at the famous Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography in Moscow, where he completed his studies in 1997.

Kjurdsidis had subsequently becoming more common appearances in movies and television productions. The final breakthrough as a film actor he succeeded in his role as " Ruslan Schamajew " appeared in 2002 film " Voina ", directed by Alexei Balabanov.

In 2007 he was awarded the title " Honored Artist of the Russian Federation".
