Euel Box
Euel Box ( born December 31, 1928 in Georgetown, Texas) is an American composer and songwriter. He created some musical works for the cinema of the 1970s and 1980s. Including compositions for movies like Benji - On hot track, A sky dog from a sniffer or Benji - His greatest adventure.
Life and career
Euel Box, born 1928 in Georgetown, Texas, earned his first money as a music producer, composer, arranger and trumpeter, among other things, he wrote advertising jingles for radio. Box spent two years at the Southwestern University before studying composition at the University of North Texas in 1951 and a Bachelor of Music acquired. Box played trumpet in the United States Marine Band, composed, arranged and produced the music for large radio markets in North America, London, Luxembourg and Australia. He composed film music for Braniff International Airways, Dr. Pepper, Buick, the United States Navy, Haggar Slacks, Zale Corporation, Texas Instruments, LTV Aerospace and Bell Helicopter.
In 1974 he succeeded with his composition to the family film about the adventures of a lovable stray dog named Benji from director Joe Camp a great commercial success. The film song I Feel Love ( Benji theme), received by the country music star Charlie Rich, won in 1975 a Golden Globe Award and was nominated for Best Song at the award ceremony in 1975 for an Oscar. Euel Box married Betty Ruth McCrary and the couple have three children: Joni Kay Box ( born 1953, Dallas ), Terry Joe Box ( * 1950, Denton, Texas), Alan Lee Box ( * 1951, Denton ).
