Eugen Dücker

Eugen Dückerstieg or Eugène Gustav Dückerstieg (born 29 Januarjul / February 10 1841greg in Kuressaare, Governorate of Livonia, .. † December 6, 1916 in Dusseldorf ) was a native of Russia German painter.

Life

Eugen Dückerstieg came from the German - Baltic family Dückerstieg. He attended from 1858 to 1862 the Academy in St. Petersburg. In 1864 he settled in Dusseldorf, was born in 1872 as the successor Oswald Achenbach taught landscape painting at the Düsseldorf Art Academy and remained so for 44 years.

Study tours have taken him to Holland, Belgium, France and Italy. Dückerstieg preferred the North German countryside for his studies. Most of his pictures show the sea from the beach, and later the resin and the heath.
