Eugène Fichel

Benjamin Eugène Fichel ( born August 30, 1826 in Paris, † February 2, 1895 ) was a French painter.

Fichel was a pupil of the history painter Hippolyte Delaroche. With their support he could change later in the atelier of Jean -Louis -Ernest Meissonier.

Reception

With his early works Fichel was still very much in the shadow of his teacher Delaroche. But no later than in the studio of Meissonier he had found his own style. In elegant style, his mostly small images are all about. One certified them to drive the design, fine characteristics and informal composition.
