Eugène Louis Bouvier ( born April 9, 1856 in Saint -Laurent -en- Grandvaux; † January 14, 1944 in Paris) was a French naturalist, entomologist and Crustacealoge.

Life

Bouvier's father was a watchmaker. Eugène Louis Bouvier went from 1862 to 1872 in the parish school of Saint -Laurent -en- Grandvaux ( l' école communale de Saint -Laurent -en- Grandvaux ). From 1872 to 1875 he attended the teachers' seminary in Lons -le- Saunier ( l' école normal primaire de Lons -le- Saunier ), was an assistant teacher at Clairvaux and had different teachers functions held at various school, so at Versailles or in Villefranche- sur -Saône.

Between 1882 and 1887 he worked as a fellow at the Muséum national d' histoire naturelle in Edmond Perrier and Alphonse Milne -Edwards. From 1883 he studied at the Faculty of Paris sciences. He received his Ph.D. at the École pratique des hautes études in the natural sciences over Système nerveux, morphology générale et classification of Gastéropodes prosobranches. In 1887, he stepped firmly into the Muséum national d' histoire naturelle, became a professor of Zoology (1894 ), where he worked from 1896 until his retirement in 1931, Chairman of the entomological laboratory.
