The stiffness Eyebright ( Euphrasia stricta ) is a species of the genus Eyebright ( Euphrasia ) in the family of broomrape family ( Orobanchaceae ).

Description

The stiffness Eyebright is a 5 to 30 cm wide, semi-parasitic plant. The entire plant is often colored dark burgundy. It falls on mainly by the upright side branches and the upright to adjacent bracts. The bracts have a wedge-shaped base are occupied on both sides with four to six teeth, which in turn often have a dark red awn. Both bracts and the standing on the stem leaves are hairless, only occasionally, the edge is short haired.

The inflorescences are terminal after at least five internodes. The crown is purple or white in color and usually 7-10 mm long.

Occurrence

The species occurs in Europe and western Asia. It grows on dry grassland, nutrient-poor grasslands and roadsides at elevations up to 1700 m. It prefers dry to fresh, nutrient-poor soils.
