European Association for Chemical and Molecular Sciences

European Association for Chemical and Molecular Sciences ( EuCheMS ) is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1970.

Purpose

The stated goal is to support partnerships between non-profit scientific and technical societies in the field of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences and promote. The organization includes more than 50 membership organizations ( among others the Bunsen -Gesellschaft, the German Chemical Society, the Austrian Chemical Society, the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Swiss Chemical Society ) to, in which more than 150,000 chemists from academia, business and government are represented in 35 European countries. EuCheMS assumes the role and responsibility of the Federation of European Chemical Societies and professional institutions.

EuCheMS is an associated organization of IUPAC.

European Chemistry Congress

The first EuCheMS Congress, at the 2348 participants from 57 countries attended, took place from 27 to 31 August 2006 in Budapest, the second event with about 2100 participants from 16 to 20 September in Turin.

The third EuCheMS Congress is organized by the German Chemical Society and held in 2010 from August 29 to September 2 in Nuremberg.
