European Radical Alliance

The Group of the European Radical Alliance was a political group in the European Parliament in the fourth legislative term from 1994 to 1999. Members included MPs radically liberal parties and members of the regionalist European Free Alliance (EFA ) to. Chairman of the Group was Catherine Lalumière.

Members

In the European elections in 1994, the EFA had suffered substantial losses seat. Had the previous Rainbow Group of the EFA still 14 members, at the 1994 election, only four deputies were elected to the European Parliament by three EFA- parties (the Lega Nord was ruled out with 5 members previously from the EFA).

One of the big winners of the European elections in France in 1994 was Bernard Tapie and his party energy radicals who could win 13 of the 78 French mandates. In Italy, the Radical Party was able to win two seats as a list Pannella. The two parties decided against participation in the liberal group and founded instead, with the support of the EFA parties, the Group of the European Radical Alliance.

Later, the Green MEP Luxembourg Jup Weber and another deputy of the faction joined.

In the European elections in 1999, the energy could radicals, now renamed Parti Radical- Socialiste, reach no more seats. The Radical reached under the name Lista Bonino seven seats and joined the Technical Group of Independent Members. The parties of the EFA also reached seven seats and founded with the European Green Party, the Greens / European Free Alliance.
