The European Route 251 ( E 251 ) connects Sassnitz on the island of Rügen on the E 22 with the European roads E 26, E 30, E 51 and E 55 on the Berliner Ring.

Route

The European route E 251 is a European road type B. It is a connection between the closest north senior to running Europe road that ends in zero, the E 20, the first to the next west senior to running E 55 and is the first branch line. However, it only begins in Sassnitz. More specifically, at the ferry port Sassnitz, where she 96b passes at together with the E 22 on the 2 streaky developed B via the B96 to Bergen auf Rügen on the 3 streaky developed and provided with alternating lanes Rügenbrücke. Behind Nassenheide it is re-exported as a dual carriageway and ends at the motorway junction Oranienburg.

Planning

The Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan for the Land Mecklenburg Vorpommern to 2013 a four-lane construction of the E 251 / B 96 as inner-city bypass in Neubrandenburg was classified as priority projects of the B 104 in the east to the B 96 in the south. As new projects the continued construction of the two-lane inner-city ring road from the B 104 in the east of the L 35 (formerly B 96 north) to the B 104 in the west and the construction of a feeder road at Junction East Neubrandenburg are provided. As new projects with a special nature conservation planning contract the four-lane expansion of the road between Neubrandenburg and Neustrelitz to south of Neustrelitz is planned. However, the state of realization allows at most construction to begin by the end of 2013. The Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan for the State of Brandenburg two-lane bypasses to Fürstenberg / Havel and Gransee are provided as well as a four-lane construction of the B 167 to Nassenheide, including the by-pass of mountain lions and Tesch village.
