Eva Janko

Eva Janko (born 24 January 1945 in Floing, Styria; born Eva Egger ) is a former Austrian track and field athlete.

Janko was 1966-1982 14 times Austrian Champion in the javelin. The biggest success of her career she succeeded at the Olympic Summer Games 1968 in Mexico City by winning the bronze medal.

With her thrown in Innsbruck on July 27, 1973 length of 61.80 m, it still retains the Austrian national record in the javelin.

In 1996, she received the Golden Medal of Merit of the Republic of Austria and 1975 the Sports Medal of the city of St. Pölten.

Her son Marc Janko is an Austrian football player.
