Evariste Payer

Évariste Payer ( born December 12, 1887 in Rockland, Ontario, † 1963 ) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who was active among others for the Canadiens de Montréal in the National Hockey League and National Hockey Association in its active period from 1909 to 1918.

Career

Évariste Payer began his career as a hockey player in his hometown at the Rockland Seniors, for which he was active in the 1909/10 season in the Lower Ottawa Hockey Association. Then the winger spent two years playing for the Canadiens de Montréal in the professional league National Hockey Association, before he took from 1912 to 1914 in the Montreal City Hockey League Montreal Hochelaga and Montreal Champetre. Then he returned to his hometown and played in the 1914/15 season again for the Rockland Seniors in the LOHA.

From 1914 to 1916 Payer did his military service. He then joined his former club from Rockland, before he recorded his only NHL - use during the season 1917/18, the premiere season of the newly formed National Hockey League for the Canadiens de Montréal. Then he ended his active career.
