Evaristo de Macedo

Evaristo de Macedo Filho ( born June 22, 1933, Rio de Janeiro ) is a former Brazilian football player and coach.

Career

Evaristo originally played at Madureira EC in the north of Rio, before he moved to the top club Flamengo in 1953. With the club he won from 1953 to 1956 three consecutive state championship in Rio de Janeiro in 1956 and the championship of the National Champion of Rio and São Paulo.

In 1952 he was part of the squad in Brazil at the Olympic Games in Helsinki, which was eliminated in the quarter-finals with 2:4 after extra time against Germany. From 1955 to 1957 he also denied 14 games for the Brazilian national team, scoring eight goals. In March 1957, he scored for the South American Championships in Lima, Peru, during the 9-0 victory against Colombia five hits - so far the most goals by a player in a game for Brazil.
