Evaristo Felice Dall'Abaco

Evaristo Felice Dall'Abaco ( born July 12, 1675 Verona, † July 12, 1742 in Munich ) was an Italian violinist, cellist and composer.

Life

Dall'Abaco was as a violinist and cellist possibly a pupil Giuseppe Torelli. In 1696 he appeared in Modena Tommaso Antonio Vitali frequently with. Since 1704 he worked as a cellist chamber musician at the court of Munich.

In the years 1704-1715 he followed Elector Max Emanuel II into exile ( after the defeat in Bavaria in the War of Spanish Succession ), first to Brussels, then to Mons, and from 1709 to Compiègne. So was his son, who later became a court musician in Bonn Dall'Abaco Joseph, born 1710 in Brussels. During this time the composer had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the French style.

1715 Maximilian Emanuel returned back to Munich. After his return to the court of Munich Dall'Abaco was appointed concertmaster and chamber Electoral Council (this was an unusual honor for a musician ) and held this office from 1740 to. Work

Dall'Abacos musical work includes six printed collections that were created 1708-1735. He composed 24 violin sonatas, 12 trio sonatas, 12 concertos da chiesa ( church concerts ) and several concerti grossi and violin concertos. His grave was in Munich at the cemetery at the Salvator Church and was abandoned in 1788 with this.
