The ewenische language (also called " lamutische language" ) belongs to the Manchu - Tungusic languages.
History
The eastern dialects of Ewenischen should have separated around 500 AD by the western dialects of Evenki, with the Ewenische is expected together with the Negidalischen to the northern branch of the Manchu - Tungusic languages. Some dialects of both languages in Yakutia have maintained close language contact and have strong grammatical and lexical overlaps.
The large differences between eastern dialects in Kamchatka, Chukotka, Magadan and Khabarovsk and the Western in Yakutia made it difficult to find a common written language. In 1932, a written language was based on the Ola dialect based on the Cyrillic alphabet, from the 1960s, however, emerged in Yakutia and Kamchatka each writing systems according to their own dialects.
Current situation
The language is highly endangered. The majority of the Evens speaks no longer Ewenisch, but Russian and Yakut or or. 1979, there were approximately 7,000 speakers.
