Evert Musch
Evert Musch ( born March 16, 1918 in Groningen, † December 5, 2007 in Anloo ) was a Dutch painter.
Life and work
Musch 1936-1940 studied at the Academie Minerva in his native city at Willem Valk, Arnold Cornelis Willem Kort and Pieter de Wit. From 1947 to 1981 Musch was a lecturer at the Academy Minerva, succeeding his teacher de Wit. His students included, among other things, Henk, Wim Crouwel and Martin Tissing.
Musch made paintings and watercolors, are characteristic landscapes and portraits in naturalistic- impressionistic style. He worked among others also as a lithographer and illustrator of books Kinderen en boosheid understood in the Groninger writer Piet Keuning and Harm de boer van ' t Hoogelaand Lucas Jonker.
Musch married in 1943 the painter Joan ( "To" ) Jager, whom he had met at the Academy Minerva. In 1945, both moved from Groningen in the Drenthe. Musch 1941-1942 was a member of the Association of Artists of 1947-1953 and De Jongeren the Drentse Schilders. In 1954 he co-founded the Association of Artists Drents Schildersgenootschap. In 1985 he received the Culture Prize of the province of Drenthe. The Drents Museum in Assen held in 1988 a retrospective of his work.
